Funding Opportunities Available:

Region 5 Systems’ Consumer/Family Advisory Committee (CFAC) accepts Funding Applications for projects meeting criteria for at least one of the CFAC Areas of Emphasis:

  • Promoting Recovery and Positive Change
  • Consumer Involvement/Advocacy
  • Social Connectedness

The CFAC funds a variety of projects positively affecting consumers and families.  A few examples of past funded projects include: Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) in English and Spanish, Wellbriety Sacred Voices, SMART Recovery, Indian Center Bingo, Motherhood is Sacred, MidPointe Garden project, and Pro-Social Activities for Alcohol & Drug Solutions. CFAC also maintains an inventory of recovery publications available to individuals and organizations providing recovery services.

CFAC also provides support for individuals who are working toward state of Nebraska Peer Support Specialist certification including cost of training state certification exam fees.

CFAC works together with organizations and the community to achieve recovery and positive change, eliminate stigma and discrimination, realize independent choices, and honor consumers with dignity and respect.

If you or someone you know would be interested in applying for funds, please complete the CFAC Funding Application form and return it to Region 5 Systems. Consumer/Family Advisory Committee—Where every member is valued and every voice is heard.

For your application to be considered, you must follow the instructions and use the forms located in the Funding Procedures manual. Failure to do so could result in a delay of your application’s approval.

Nebraska Certification Testing For Peer Support Specialists
Applications are being taken for those who have taken the Peer Support training and wish to take the Nebraska Certification test. For more information click here. Please include your letter of approval from IC&RC with your application.

Funding Application Review: Please allow 6-8 weeks for full processing of your application. There are several steps to the funding process.

  1. Funding Applications are due by 15th of every month.
  2. Applications received by the 15th are reviewed by the Funding Committee for recommendation on the 3rd Tuesday of the same month.
  3. Applications are reviewed by the CFAC Executive Committee on the 1st Tuesday of the following month.
  4. Applications are reviewed at the CFAC All-Members meeting on the 2nd Tuesday for full membership vote.
  5. Approved funding applications are submitted to Region 5 Systems for final approval.
  6. Approved funding is provided by Region 5 Systems.
